Education in Fractal Drawing

A psychological technique for expressing emotions through a creative process.

For children and adults
Structured process + coloring rules
Calmness • focus • creative growth

What is fractal drawing?

Fractal drawing is a psychological technique in which, with closed eyes, we draw a fractal sketch with a pencil on a white A4 sheet. After that comes the intuitive choice of colored pencils in different shades. As the hand moves freely across the paper, attention shifts toward intuition and the inner self. The final drawing and its colors are then used to reflect the participant's current psychological state.

The process of fractal drawing is calming, reduces stress and anxiety, feels like active meditation, and creates space for expressing emotions, both positive and negative, without words.

Fractal drawing is excellent for:

  • Artistic expression of personal potential through drawing
  • Development of creativity and imagination
  • Development of focus, concentration, and attention
  • Relief from stress, anxiety, and negative emotions
  • Turning attention inward toward intuition
  • Conversation about the meaning of colors and emotions
  • Joy and satisfaction from drawing and coloring

It is suitable for children aged 5 and above, adults, and children with developmental difficulties.

How does the process work?

1

Drawing with closed eyes (1 min)

2

3

Each workshop is guided and calm, with no pressure and no "wrong" result.

Who is behind VEDRA

Katerina Trajanova

Certified trainer in fractal drawing

A law graduate by profession and a long-time creative professional, she is also the founder of Miss Kejti, a Facebook page previously focused on organizing creative children's birthdays and making party packages and greeting cards for special occasions.

She previously worked for around six years as a creative professional, copywriter, and social media marketer in a company producing video games for children.

Since early 2024, she has attended fractal drawing workshops with Professor Martina Kosec Reba in Zagreb, Croatia. At the start of 2025, she completed the online Vidija Academy for fractal drawing and received a Certificate as a Trainer in Fractal Drawing, currently unique in Macedonia.

She leads the workshops with care, patience, strong creativity, and a calm psychological approach for both children and adults. The guided process encourages participants to connect with their intuition and inner world and to express both positive and negative emotions on a blank sheet of paper.

The goal is: creativity + emotional release + learning a new psychological art technique

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be talented at drawing?

No. Fractal drawing does not require artistic skill or previous experience. The process is intuitive and focused on expressing emotions through drawing a fractal network for one minute on white paper, then choosing pencils with closed eyes and coloring the drawing.

Is fractal drawing a form of art therapy?

Yes. Fractal drawing can be considered a form of creative art therapy, and the analysis of the fractal drawing can reveal a person's current psychological state.

What age group is it for?

Fractal drawing is intended for everyone: children aged 5 and above, teenagers, adults, and seniors. It has a strong psychological effect in easing certain negative emotional states while also helping people express positive emotions on paper. There are also special programs for children with special needs.

How long does one workshop last?

Workshops usually last 1.5 hours. For kindergartens and schools, the packages last 45 minutes so they fit preschool programs and school lessons. Team sessions for companies also last about 1.5 hours, with the theme and technique agreed in advance. For homes for people with special needs, both children and adults, sessions are around 45 minutes depending on the developmental and psychological context.

What should I bring?

You do not need to bring your own materials, because all materials such as paper, colors, brushes, and more are provided by Vedra Education. Just bring a good mood, and company if you like. Children may come with siblings, friends, and parents, while adults are welcome to come with friends or partners.

Does the child need to talk about emotions?

No. Fractal drawing is a way to express emotions WITHOUT words. There is no pressure to talk, because the child's emotions are reflected directly in the fractal drawing through the shapes and colors and can show their current psychological state.

Can it be individual or only group based?

Both. There are individual workshops for children and adults, as well as small group workshops for 5 to 7 participants. Group sessions are organized in kindergartens, schools, play centers, companies, and non-governmental organizations. Vedra Education also organizes charitable workshops free of charge.
